TriEagle: Who are they?

Since 2003, TriEagle Energy has served residential and commercial customers in Texas, and are currently licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Texas-based provider became known for its transparent and straightforward pricing, with a wide array of plans including 100% renewable options. 

Dedicated to customer satisfaction, they offer a “Tri Us Guarantee,” which gives customers 60 days to change plans or providers at no cost if they are unhappy with the plan they’ve chosen. TriEagle enhances its services by offering a demand response incentive called “Connect and Conserve,” which encourages customers to use less energy during high demand periods by providing them with rewards and value added features.

Plans Offered by TriEagle

TriEagle is well known for their straightforward and simple pricing. They offer different plan types for people with various energy usage needs. Before enrolling, make sure to check the  Electricity Facts Label so that you are aware of the contract details.

Fixed Rate

Fixed Rate plans offer a locked in rate to customers, giving them stable and predictable bills. TriEagle offers the Simple Savings 12, 24, or 36 month plans. No matter what happens with the energy market prices, you continue to pay the same amount for your electricity throughout the duration of your contract. If you decide to switch plans or providers before your term is over, you will have a $20 Early Termination Fee (ETF) per remaining month on your contract.

Variable Rate

Bill Credit

TriEagle offers various bill credit plans which essentially incentivize you to use more energy. Once you pass a certain threshold of energy used, you will receive a set bill credit to help lower your costs. With TriEagle they provide the Savvy Value plan which gives its customers bill credits once they use more than 2000kWh every month.

They offer a 60-day satisfaction guarantee: if a customer isn’t happy with their plan within the first 60 days of enrollment, TriEagle Energy will help them switch to a different plan at no additional cost.

However, it’s important to note that cancellation fees may apply if a customer switches to another provider or changes plans after this initial 60-day period.


No, TriEagle is known for being very transparent with their rates and fees, even winning an award for it in 2008. Make sure to check out each plan’s EFL to ensure you know exactly how much everything will cost you as well as all the extra terms that may come with each plan.

TriEagle, like most providers, runs a credit check. Depending on the results, if your credit score doesn’t meet their requirements, you may be required to pay a deposit to continue with TriEagle.


Connect and Conserve, offered by TriEagle Energy, is a voluntary, risk free program designed to assist not only the power grid by reducing stress during high usage periods, but customers as well. By enrolling a qualifying smart thermostat, this program helps TriEagle customers conserve energy and gives them the opportunity to earn up to $150 when they sign up. When TriEagle suspects strain on the energy grid, they’ll alert customers and change their thermostat by a few degrees for a period of time, reverting them back once the high demand for energy is gone.
